KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP TO BE HELD APRIL 6: Kindergarten and transition kindergarten round-up at Paullina Community School will be held in conjunction with the tes’ prc-kindergarten night on Monday, April 6, 1992, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. A meeting for parents will take place while prospective kindergarteners explore the room and participate in group activities. Guest speakers will include AEA consultant, county nurse, talented and gifted coordinator and classroom teachers. A round-up clinic will be held Monday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students will get a glimpse of a school day including lunch and a bus ride.
1992 Dinner Theatre this weekend – South O’Brien High School students are putting the final touches on this years Dinner Theatre production, “Is There A Doctor in the House?” This two-act comedy will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings, March 27 & 28 at the 9th grade gym in Sutherland. Dinner & show tickets arc available at the Sutherland, Paullina. and Primghar school offices There are only a few seats left, so hurry and get yours Tickets for the theatre only will be available at the door both nights.

Paullina took the lead early in the game as the Panthers met Keokuk Cardinal Stritch on Thursday evening at Veteran s Auditorium a t De s Moines Darvl Schnoes canned 5 for 5 from the field in the first quarter and hit 2 for 6 in the second quarter to team u p once again with Randv Kraavenbrink as he It11 3 for 4 in the first quarter and 4 for 7 m the second period an d also h nut of 6 free throws to hit for 20 points in the first half Brad Alberts hit for 4 points. Max Rohrs 6 and Mar k Brown I to give the Panthers a 46 to 26 lead at halftime Paullina scored tin first 6 points of the second half to give them their highest lead of the evening 52 to 26 Cardinal Stritch did cut the lead to 15 points 66 to 51 late in the game but Kraavenbrink hit two straight lump shots and tipped in one of his own misses to put the Panthers back in control.
The Paullina Panthers claimed their fifth state basketball championship Friday night by defeating Central City 66 to 56 in the Boys Class IA finals at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Central City came to win Friday night and never trailed in the first quarter as the score was tied 14 all at the end of th e first 8 minute s They didn’t fall behind until Randy Kraavenbrink scored at the start of the second quarter to give the Panthers a 16 to 14 lead Randy connected on 7 for 7 from the field in the second quarter with Brad Alberts adding 2 field goals and Max Rohrs and Mark Brown each 1 field goal to give Paullina a 38 to 30 halftime lead.
Randy Kraavenbrink came through on a driving layup which resulted in a 3 point play This brought the Panthers to 63 to 56 with 54 seconds to go. Another 3 point play and the game was over with Paullina taking the victory 66 to 56.

Easter Egg Hunt To Be Held Saturday, April 1 For Pre-Schoolers-4th – The traditional Easter egg hunt for Paullina area youngsters will be held on Saturday, April 1 at the football field. The fun. and activities for the youngsters will begin at 1 p.m. There will be four age groups — 1. preschoolers 2. kindergarten 3. first and second graders 4. third and fourth graders. No one, in grades, above the fourth grade, will be eligible to participate in the Easter egg hunt. There will be special prize eggs. If the weather is unfavorable on this day, the Easter egg hunt will be postponed until the following Saturday.
