30 years ago – 1992
Mapleside – by Olive Wilson Eric and Kay Michener of Fairfield spent a long weekend with their grandparents, Arthur and Sada Henderson. Vernon and De Tjossem, Jessica and Brian have spent much time visiting back and forth between De’s parents, Stan and Lavonne Jesperson of near Royal, and their home. David Jesperson and his wife Leila Mccoy and their son Martin from California have been with them. Other relatives came to see them also.

Local Happenings – Mrs. John Prins visited Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Lucille Van Veldhuizen in, Sanborn. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tesch were Sunday afternoon callers in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Tesch in Sanborn. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Benner accompanied Mr. Bud Benner of Paullina to Harris Sunday where they were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blahauvietz. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Cal Harms of Harris. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Schnack attended a wedding reception held for Mr. and Mrs. David Evenson in Sheldon. Mr. and Mrs. George Cole.of Sutherland and Steve Cole were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Cole. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Frangenberg and son of Archer, and Mike, Angie and Christy Frangenberg were Sunday supper guests in the Tony Frangenberg home.
2nd annual Minneapolis trip enjoyed by a all – Thirty-nine Primgharites defied the weatherman’s dreadful predictions for Minnesota last Saturday and went on the second annual theatre trip sponsored by the Primghar Community Playhouse. The “theatre weekend” ticket included roundtrip transportation to Minneapolis, dinner theatre, overnight lodging, a side trip to a new Minneapolis mall and two group stops for meals. Everyone had a great time.
51 attend Dinner Date – Dinner Date at Primghar on March 18 was a fun and friendly time when 25 people from Sanborn attended. Also attending were people from Sutherland, Archer, and Sheldon. Including the Primghar people there was a total of 51. Program numbers given by Catherine Kroese, Clara Scott and -Leona Davis were enjoyed by all. Marjorie McCulla of Sutherland, who is running for the Older lowans Legislature was introduced. Again friendships were renewed. Lottie Stromer visited with a classmate she hadn’t seen for 50 years.

LOCAL STUDENT WITH COLLEGE BASEBALL TEAM Sioux Falls, S. Dak., — Augustana baseball coach Ken Kessiner has named a 14-man traveling squad for the Vikings’ seven game excursion into Texas, March 27- 30. The trip occurs during the Easter break from classes.
