Brothers receive Eagle honor – Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is a coveted honor for Boy Scouts, reached only after hundreds of hours of work on badges and service projects. On March 8 two Primghar brothers, Tracy and Chris Strecker, received the honor in a double- ceremony at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Tracy’s and Chris’s achievements are made even more unusual because they have only been scouts for two and two and a half years respectively. They say they didn’t join Cub Scouts as young boys because they really didn’t have a good idea of what the organization had to offer. It was Chris who first expressed an interest in scouting when a friend asked him to join. He says he quickly got caught up in the organization and as a result his older brother also became interested in joining. “I thought it might be interesting with all the things he was doing,” says Tracy, “It seemed like something to do.”
