Terrie J. Sherman

Terrie J. Sherman 67, of Paullina, Iowa, passed away January 26, 2022 at her residence in Paullina.
Memorial services will be held later this spring. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Terrie was born on September 8, 1954 to Harvey and Berniece (Johnson) Allen at Cherokee, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee, where she attended public schools and later received her G.E.D.
She married Jim Hill in Cherokee and from that union, had two daughters. She later married Glenn McCannon and was blessed with another daughter.
Terrie moved to Minnesota, where she remained for most of her adult life. There she married “The love of her life”, Larry Sherman. They lived in Minnetonka and Park Rapids, Minnesota. They were married 27 years. She moved to Cherokee seven years ago and lived with her sister, Kathy for a couple of years and then to Paullina, Iowa, where she remained until her death.
She had various jobs in Minnesota that she enjoyed such as the head chef at the Country Club at Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. She was a Home Manager for a successful business family, the “Popps”, where she organized, prepared, and catered special meals for the family and parties for a large number of guests. She competed in professional fishing and was a tour guide for fishing tournaments.
She was actively involved in the First Baptist Church in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
Terrie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and having special birthday parties for them as they grew up. She enjoyed watching and studying birds, fishing, cooking, and especially sitting outside on her porch listening to Christian Radio and reading and following along in her Bible.
She had a personal relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ and is now at peace in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Terrie will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Allen in 2006, her father, Harvey Allen in 2010, and her mother, Berniece Spinelli in 2019.
Terrie will lovingly be remembered by her daughters, Tracey Hill of Paullina, Iowa, Tonya Hill of Monticello, Minnesota, and Ronnie Lynn McCannon of St. Paul, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, Payton, Allana, Hailee, Kyson, Kaiden, Jaylynn, and Shelby; stepfather, David Spinelli of Aurelia, Iowa; sister Kathy (Howard) Schultze of Cherokee, Iowa; brothers Ron (Connie) Allen of Sioux City, Iowa, Harvey Jim (Kim) Allen of Dakota City, Nebraska, Kevin Greene of Galva, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
