Archer Council Establishes Path to New Library
By Mari Radtke
The Archer Council on Tuesday February 8 heard from Library Director Annee Carlson about the condition of the existing library building. At the same time a great discussion identified some potential funding sources and next steps for an appropriate facility.
A water leak in the building flooded the “Community Center” area. The leak has been stopped. Discussion of brining in a professional service did not settle on a decision.
Council did establish how it would proceed to get a replacement building. Council will spend time at their next regular meeting developing a survey to be mailed with the water bill for citizens. Council will also reach out to residents in the Archer area out side of town.
Archer council approved the resolution for their Maximum Property Tax dollars for the fiscal 2023 year. No comments or questions were received. Archer cannon raid from basic property tax levies more than $8.10 per $1000 or taxable value. The revenue for the city for that levy will max out at $40.309. Council also set the public hearing for its proposed 2023 fiscal year budget for March 8, 2022 at the regular city council meeting.
Park cleanup is set for May 21 at 10:00am to include a barbeque at 12:30.
