Archer Council Selects Favorite Library Site

After a year of working through questions to locate the site of a new library the Archer City Council vocalized their favorite place to build a library. They are eyeing the south end of the city park. After considerable discussion Tuesday December 14 all 5 council members decided that is the place they consider the best location to establish a safe, ADA accessible public library building. Their next step is to gather public input on the location.
The newly voted council members and mayor were sworn in with Aimee Mueller taking her seat immediately. Se was voted to fill the vacated seat of Bill Engeljkes.
Engeljkes has opted to move away from work he had done of for year for the city, caring for the community center and mowing city property among the tasks. One young lady stepped up to do the mowing for the long-standing price of $500. At the end of the season she reported 130 hours over the mowing season. Mayor Nathan Mueller stated clearly that he was not going to pay someone less than minimum wage for mowing. A long discussion about the agreed rate and a reasonable payment in light of knowing the time it takes. An assortment of payment figures and ways to calculate a reasonable rate were discussed. Council decided on payer her $1000 for the 2021 summer and would address the payment to applicants for the coming years.
