Press release from O’Brien County Emergency Management
We are continuing to gather storm damage information throughout O’Brien County.
The strong winds last evening caused large tree branches to fall in multiple communitiess
-Tree branches were down in Sutherland, Calumet, Paullina, Primghar, Sheldon, Sanborn, and Hartley
Additional damages:
-Machine shed destroyed SE of Sutherland, debris landed on HWY 10, HWY 10 is open in that area.
-Large tree branch landed on commercial property in Sutherland (significant roof damage)
-Hoop building destroyed in Sutherland (located east of fire station)
-yard building damaged north of Sutherland on Vine Ave
-Power outages were noted at different time in Paullina, Calumet, and Sutherland
-Road signs are damaged in multiple areas throughout the county (stop signs damaged along Vine Ave north of Sutherland)
We have heard that most power outages have been fixed.
