Sheldon/South O’Brien produced a first place wrestler and saw two others finish second as the Orabs participated in the Joe Fitch Invitational held December 3 at Humboldt.
Coy DeBoer captured the 138-pound weight class. He won by fall over Forest City’s Nathan Merideth and then Kuemper Catholic’s Kent Sanders. A decision over Zayn Feaster of Humboldt put DeBoer in the 1st Place Match where he defeated Atlantic’s Easton O’Brien 7-2.
Cason Johannes finished second at 152 pounds. His path to the 1st Place Match included two wins by fall and one by decision. Shea Parkis of Kuemper defeated Johannes 11-6 to win the weight class. After receiving a first round bye, Jarrett Roos pinned a pair of opponents at 170 pounds to reach the 1st Place Match. There he lost a 5-1 decision to Kadin Stutzman of Atlantic.
Sheldon/South O’Brien placed fifth as a team with 152 points. Atlantic was the team champ with a 279 total.
