Betty Lou Lauman (Wilkin/Leget)

Betty Lou Lauman (Wilkin/Leget )

Betty Lou Lauman (Wilkin/Leget), the daughter of William Samuel and Celeste (Farqhar) Wilken was born December 21, 1938 in Spencer, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Sutherland, Iowa, where she graduated from high school. She also resided in Sanborn, Primghar, Marcus and Spencer. She received her LPN nursing degree at The School of Nursing in Carroll, Iowa.
Betty was united in marriage to Robert Lauman. She worked as an LPN at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, Iowa, for 20 years. She was a big fan of NBA and loved watching the Bulls and enjoyed cross-stitch work, reading and especially “her boys”. Betty previously attended the Methodist Church in Marcus, Iowa.
Betty passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob Lauman; two sons and their wives: Carroll and Leslie Leget of Plattsmouth, NE, Don Leget and Sandy LaFleur of Sergeant Bluff, IA; seven grandchildren: Kaeli L. Hoschar (Leget) of Plattsmouth, NE, Kalen L. Leget of Plattsmouth, NE, Kira L. Leget of Plattsmouth, NE, Donald G. Leget, Jr of Sioux City, IA, Megan D. Leget of Enterprise, AL, Dakota L. Leget of Duluth, MN and Toi and Brent Sampson of Hartford, WI; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
