The South O’Brien girls basketball team will be looking to improve on last season’s ninth place finish (2-8) in the War Eagle Conference. Leading the way will be the Wolverines’ lone returning starter, senior Willa Sickelka. She will be aided in that effort by returning letterwinners Abby Schreck, Grace Fuhrman, Kenna Bauer and Riley Draper, seniors all. Support will be provided by junior Alyssa Van Beek and by four other juniors on the squad, Taja Conley, Takara Conley, Tatiana Conley and Sam Wilbur.
Head Coach Erica Dreckman, now in her fourth year, guided South O’Brien to a 9-15 record last season. The coach cited West Sioux, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and MMCRU as the favorites this year in the battle for War Eagle Conference supremacy.
