Parking Relief

Additional parking being added to Swanson Sports Complex.

Parking for varsity baseball and softball has been difficult at best for years. Over that time a variety of potential solutions have been discussed among the 2 parties of the 28E agreement that operates the Swanson Sports Complex, City of Paullina and South O’Brien School District.
Paullina Council approved paying for half of the cost of covering shoulder on the south side of Swanson Street and applying a blacktop surface to the area from its Road Use Tax Funds (RUTF). The South O’Brien Board of Education approved a matching expenditure for the other half of the project to come from its Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL). Each entity is responsible for $33,041.10 for the project. The project created over 50 new parking spaces. Blacktop Services completed the project Friday September 3.
