Local Lily Friedrichsen was honored at BVU’s Senior Recognition Celebration
Buena Vista University recognized 43 students at its Senior Recognition Celebration on April 25. This annual event symbolizes BVU’s pride for student achievements and honors those of leadership and academic excellence.
At the event, Lily Friedrichsen of Sutherland was awarded the Marjorie Holmes Literary Award. The award recipients are chosen by a committee of English faculty members who evaluate student portfolios. English majors submit a portfolio of their written work which represents each student’s best work in multiple genres. Awards are open to students who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
“At Buena Vista University, we take great pride in the accomplishments of our students and acknowledge the support of friends and family who have encouraged these students to achieve their greatest potential,” says Dr. Brian Lenzmeier, BVU President.
This year’s event was held in Schaller Memorial Chapel on BVU’s Storm Lake campus as well as live-streamed for families and friends to view.
