Alyssa Van Beek Captured Third Place In The High Jump At The Okoboji Relays.

Taja Conley Is Off With The Gun As The Okoboji Relays 4x800 Gets Underway.

The South O’Brien girls won a close battle for second place at the Okoboji Relays held April 26 at Milford. The Wolverines finished with 96 points to edge out Sioux Center (92 points) and the host Pioneers (90 points). Winning the team title was Spirit Lake Park with 129 points.
South O’Brien captured three individual events. Grace Fuhrman won the discus with a throw of 105’ 5”. Willa Sickelka was first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.60. Karlee Warnke won another long jump competition, this time with a leap of 15’ 10-1/4”. Sickelka and Warnke teamed with Annika Jenness and Hannah Dau to take the 4×100 meter relay in a time of 52.18.
Placing second was the shuttle hurdle relay unit of Kenna Bauer, Marissa Ebel, Riley Draper and Abby Schreck. The latter was also third in the 110 meter hurdles. Three other third-place finishes were recorded by Alyssa Van Beek in the high jump, Jenness, Dau, Warnke and Sickelka in the 4×200 and Taja Conley, Takara Conley, Fuhrman and Sophia Faust in the 4×800.
