South O’Brien golfers absorb narrow loss to Hinton girls
The South O’Brien Girls Golf Team hosted their second home meet of the season at Primghar Golf Course on April 26, when they faced the Hinton girls in a War Eagle Conference dual. The warm weather made it a great night for golf – one of the best all season.
The Wolverines lost a close one to Hinton 212-214 to move to 2-2 in conference duals. Hinton’s Hailey Rosenbaum earned medalist honors with a 46. South O’Brien senior Kaeley Einck took second with a 48, her season best. Sophomore Samantha Wilbur finished with a 50, which was good for third place. Sophomore Whitney Einck finished tied for fifth with a 52, and senior Breana Bottjen shot a 65, which put her in eighth place.
“It was great to have Kaeley and Samantha come in with personal bests tonight,” said South O’Brien coach Kris Faust, “We need to work on consistency, and we will continue to see individual and team scores drop.”
Team scores: Hinton 212, South O’Brien 214.
