A team total of 134 points by the South O’Brien girls was good enough for a runner-up finish in Class 1A at the Tomahawk Relays held April 9 at Cherokee. Once again, the Wolverines scored in every event and they fell just six points short of a strong Ridge View team.
Taja Conley was the winner of the 400 meter hurdles while Annika Jenness finished first in the 100 meters and Willa Sickelka first in the 200 meters. Jenness and Taja Conley were part of the winning 4×200 relay team along with Hannah Dau and Karlee Warnke. Jenness, Dau, Warnke and Sickelka teamed up to capture the 4×100 relay. The sprint medley relay was won by the team of Jenness, Warnke, Sickelka and Maddy Jungers.
Warnke was second in the high jump, as was Sickelka in the 200 meters. Second place also went to the shuttle hurdle relay unit of Kenna Bauer, Marissa Ebel, Riley Draper and Abby Schreck. Third place was attained by Sophia Faust in the 800 meters and by the 4×400 relay group of Taja Conley, Takara Conley, Bauer and Faust.
