Babysitting for Beginners workshop to be offered May 1 in Primghar
PRIMGHAR, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host a Babysitting for Beginners workshop on Saturday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the ISU Extension and Outreach O’Brien County office in Primghar.
The program is open to youth in 4th grade or older and will cover First-Aid skills and emergency preparedness; healthy and easy snack options; diaper changing; and age-appropriate activities for kids.
“Participants will leave with knowledge of basic First Aid and what to do in an emergency,” said Sarah Fiddelke, O’Brien County Youth Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach, who is hosting the program. “They will also design their own babysitting bag full of age-appropriate games and activities, make some healthy snacks and, everyone’s favorite – practice changing diapers.”
There is no cost to attend the program; however, preregistration is required, and registration is limited to the first 20 registrants. To register or ask questions, contact Sarah at 712-957-5045 or email sfiddelk@iastate.edu.
