The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors received an application for the construction of a confinement feeding facility. The proposed facility is owned by Roorda Dairy LLC c/o Scott Roorda and is located in Section 24, Baker Township. The proposed construction will be one new 5,791 head dairy cattle free stall confinement building, sand lane, milking parlor, holding area building and a three cell earthen manure storage basin at an existing dairy cattle confinement/open lot facility.
Animal Unit Capacity of the confinement operation after construction: 8,499.40 animal units. (6,071 head of mature dairy cattle)
The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors will take written comments from the public until 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. A hearing on the permit application will be held at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the Courthouse Assembly Room.
