South O’Brien vs. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn

A scoreless opening quarter made a slow start to the game in Paullina against friendly rival teams, South O’Brien Wolverines vs. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks. The second quarter put both teams on the board with the Wolverines going to the locker room with a 14-7 edge.
Hawks’ coach must have lit a fire during the break. The Hawks came out in the second half on a mission. The Wolverines field goal in the 3rd was outdone by the Hawks’ TD with a 2-point conversion. That put the score at 15 Hawks and Wolverines 17. A game deserving of the friendly rivalry.
There are no stats or times available, but the Hawks score a field goal in the 4th to win the game, 18-17. it was truly a thriller.
