Tournament play is about to begin for the South O’Brien baseball and softball teams.
The baseball team plays a Class 1A District 2 game on Saturday, July 5 at 5:00 p.m. at Akron. They will be taking on Gehlen Catholic. The winner of that game advances to play the winner of Saturday’s nightcap between Akron-Westfield and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. The District semifinal is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. at a site to be determined.
The Wolverine girls open Class 1A Region 7 play on the road. They will be matched up against Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7 at Hull. The victor in that contest faces off against Akron-Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at Akron.
