In a three team race for the team title, South O’Brien’s girls track and field team was left in third place at the conclusion of the Sioux Central Early Bird Coed Invite held April 8 at Sioux Rapids. The Wolverines totaled 125 points. Alta-Aurelia finished first with a score of 133 as the host Rebels came up just one point short at 132.
Taylor Wulf and Tawni Wulf finished 1-2 in the discus. Camryn Strubbe was second in the long jump and third in the 200 meters. Third place also went to Tori Schueller in the high jump and Maeci Stevens in the 400 meter hurdles. The 100 meter hurdles event saw Abby Nelson finish third and Schueller fourth.
Relays placing in the runner-up position were the 4×200 of Kelsee Warnke, Schueller, Amelie Wilson and Strubbe, the distance medley of Wilson, Nelson, Avery Halverson and Reese Farquhar and the shuttle hurdle of Nelson, Schueller, Stevens and Tawni Wulf.
