Sheldon/South O’Brien’s wrestlers broke even on the day in competition at the Alta-Aurelia Dual Tourney held January 25 at Alta. The Orabs beat Manson Northwest Webster 42-30 and picked up a 66-0 victory over Sioux City West with every Sheldon/South O’Brien wrestler who competed getting a win by forfeit. The losses for the Orabs came 42-36 to West Monona-Whiting and 52-24 to the host Warriors.
Heavyweight Jack Leng enjoyed a successful day, although he spent little time on the mat. Two of his four wins were by forfeit. Leng’s two pins also came quickly as he finished off West Monona-Whiting’s Jakob Brewer in 15 seconds and the Warriors’ Wilson Alpet in 17 seconds. Josh Hoffmann won four times by forfeit at 132 pounds. Winning twice by fall were Roman Harms at 126 and Mitchel Fischer at 165.
