Orabs capitalize on miscues to beat South O’Brien
Mistakes in the field by South O’Brien helped prolong a fifth inning in which Sheldon scored six runs to key a 9-4 victory June 5 at Sheldon. The Wolverines had just taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the inning but Sheldon took back the momentum. Each team added two more runs, the Orabs in the sixth inning and South O’Brien in the seventh.
Alex Griebel went five innings on the mound. He yielded seven runs on eight hits but three of those runs were unearned. Griebel struck out four batters and walked two. Will Stout pitched the sixth inning which included a hit, a strikeout, a walk and a hit batter. One of the two runs he allowed were earned. The team was guilty of four errors.
Eliot Boardman had three hits in four at bats and scored run. Damian Villarreal was 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored. Brady Riedemann had a single and a walk and scored a run. Gabe Moermond drew a pair of walks and also scored a run. Griebel walked twice.
