The South O’Brien track and field boys finished fifth in Class B at Unity Christian’s Knight Relays held April 21 at Northwestern College in Orange City. The Wolverines scored 73 team points. The Class B champ was MMCRU with 124 points.
South O’Brien received first-place individual performances from Brennan Billick in the 110 meter hurdles and Derek Paulsen in the 100 meter dash. Both athletes were part of the winning shuttle hurdle relay team, along with Brett Evans and Brody Van Beek.
Billick was second in the 400 meter hurdles as was Landen Davenport in the 3200 meter run. Runner-up relays were the 4×100 of Damian Villarreal, Caden Wittrock, Van Beek and Paulsen and the 4×200 with Evans, Wittrock, Van Beek and Paulsen.
