O’Brien County Community Foundation Recieves Large Estate

The O’Brien County Community Foundation is honored to announce a remarkable gift of over $450,000 from the estate of Leane Bodle. The generous contribution marks one of the largest gifts OBCCF’s history and will provide enduring support for programs and services in O’Brien County.
The gift will be used to establish the Leane Bodle Endowment Fund which will provide support for projects and programs in O’Brien County in perpetuity. The new fund aligns with the foundation’s mission to build endowments for the benefit of O’Brien County.

We are honored to steward her legacy and ensure that this gift creates lasting, meaningful change for the benefit of the residents of O’Brien County.”
OBCCF made an immediate impact through grants from Leane Bodle’s estate gift to the following organizations for the betterment of the O’Brien County community. Each of the following daycares received $10,000 for general support: Kids Kampus Daycare, Primghar; Kids Express Daycare, Sanborn; Children’s World Daycare, Sheldon; Saving Grace Daycare, Paullina; Hartley Community Daycare, Hartley and Noah’s Ark Daycare, Sutherland. Little Sioux Valley Conservation Association received $10,000 toward their exhibit renovation and the Sheldon Recreational Trails received $10,000 toward their trail project. The American Legions of Paullina, Primghar and Sutherland received $7500 (collectively) toward their effort to purchase a new motorized flag for the South O’Brien School Competition Gym. The OBCCF is governed by a local nine-member advisory board composed of representatives from each of the communities in O’Brien County.
