The South O’Brien girls track and field team participated in the Tomahawk Girls Relays April 25 at Cherokee. Competing in Class 2A, the Wolverines totaled 60 points to finish seventh. Ridge View was the 2A champion with 165 points.
The top event for South O’Brien was the shot put. Maddie Johnson took first place and Clara Larson was third. Also finishing third was the 4×200 meter relay. Members of that relay were Maddy Friedrichsen, Karlee Warnke, Addison Hedberg and Kelsee Warnke.
Taja Conley placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles. Other fourth-place finishes went to the 4×100 meter relay group of Friedrichsen, Camryn Strubbe, Hedberg and Kelsee Warnke and the shuttle hurdle relay unit of Marissa Ebel, Abigail Nelson, Tawni Wulf and Hedberg.
