Willie Conley led the scoring effort for South O’Brien as the Wolverines competed at the Knight Relays on the track at Northwestern College in Orange City. Conley won the high jump, finished third in the 400 meters and was fifth in the 200 meters.
The event, hosted by Unity Christian, split the 16-team field into two classes. South O’Brien was in the eight-team Class B for smaller schools. There was also a JV division in the field events.
A pair of Wolverine relays placed fourth. They were the sprint medley, made up of Jordan Jenness, Boston Riedemann, Cole Tjossem and Conley and the shuttle hurdle composed of Riedemann, Brennan Billick, Brody Van Beek and Cole Cox. South O’Brien also got sixth-place finishes in the individual hurdle events, thanks to Riedemann in the 110’s and Billick in the 400. Also placing sixth was Damian Villarreal in the long jump.
