Kenna Bauer Reaches Back To Take The Baton From Karlee Warnke As Part Of The Winning 4x100 Effort At The Warrior Relays.

South O’Brien’s track and field girls scored points in all but one of the events in which they competed at Alta-Aurelia’s Warrior Coed Relays held April 26 at Alta. They finished with a 136 total but Sioux Central did them one better, winning the team title with 137 points.
The Wolverines pulled off a double in the throwing events with Maddie Johnson winning the shot put and Grace Fuhrman taking the discus. Willa Sickelka captured the 100 meters and anchored two relays to victory. She teamed with Abby Schreck, Karlee Warnke and Kenna Bauer in both the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. Also finishing first was the distance medley relay made up of Maddy Friedrichsen, Annika Jenness, Taja Conley and Takara Conley.
Runner-up finishes were recorded by Warnke in the long jump, Sickelka in the 200 meters and Taja Conley in the 400 meter hurdles. Also crossing the finish line second was the sprint medley relay made up of Friedrichsen, Schreck, Warnke and Taja Conley.
Placing third were Clara Larsen in the shot put and Takara Conley in the 1500 meters. Three more third-place efforts were turned in by the 4×400 relay of Taja Conley, Regan Draper, Takara Conley and Bauer, the 4×800 relay of Fuhrman, Takara Conley, Elodie Wilson and Mariella Smith and the shuttle hurdle relay of Schreck, Riley Draper, Marissa Ebel and Bauer.
